DANCING WHITE PEACOCK

जंगल में मोर नाचा किसने देखा........मैंने देखा ।
Some of us have rare occassions to watch the peacock dancing on the roof s  and in the fields of the villages  after harvest season. I thought about a replica of  peacock should  take place in my house.

I started thinking the image of a dancing peacock , which has been made from the following unused waste items:- i. aqua guard candle ii. broom grass stick( Jharoo)  iii. newspapers iv.soft iron wire v. card  sheet vi.glue vii. white and yellow pearl colors black, white , light brown febicryl colors viii cardboard roll.

Waste candle was completely wrapped with newspapers  giving the shape of body by twisting and moulding in such a`way that it looked like lower part the body. A small 6" piece of a cardboard roll l was fixed on the top of candle with the help of adhesive tape. On the upper portion  of the roll , a small ball to form head was fixed . Tree wires(1" size) were fitted on  head . Small feathers were also made from card sheet so as to like Kalangi and fixed with glue. Both legs were made from soft iron wire.
Most important and typical item was to prepare its feathers. Many  oval shaped figures of different sizes  were  made from  the card sheet and cut them cleanly. The brushes of the  broom were spread away and pasted over one side of oval round  and left it to dry. Thereafer, rear part of broom sticks were devided in two parts from upper to bottom side, pasted on the dried oval and another oval shaped card sheet pasted over it. This procedure applied in preparing good numbers of peacock's feathers. .It took about 15 days to make feathers. Subsequently,  with the help of scissors ,the toe of each feather was given a nice shape. The completed feathers were fixed on the back of the peacock in dancing pose. The beak and eyes were also made from card sheet. The whole structure was allowed to dry for 3-4 days. White, yellow pearl colors were used to paint  it. Eyes and beak were painted with matching colors.

BOY

An unserviceable Spray pump was to be thrown out of the house. Its life was increased when an idea to reuse it was  clicked.  It  started  its second journey with other waste items:-
1. container of spray pump  2. plastic lid of mixer grinder and 3. waste newspapers
A ball was made from waste newspapers so as to use it as head  and it was placed on  the container and tightened with soft wire.Thereafter, a plastic lid of a jar was fitted on the ball to make the hat. An oval shaped piece was cut from a card sheet to complete  the hat. Entire figure was wrapped with 4-5 layers of tissue paper with the help of diluted  glue. It was dried properly. Its eyes, nose ,mouth and ears were painted by brush and colours. Lower part was also colored in such a way that it looked like printed shirt.

TITANIC

Have you heard  कहीं की ईंट कहीं का रोड़ा भानमती ने कुनवा जोड़ा।
It was not an easy task for me to throw few broken items/ toys of the children. So I decided to  assemble  those  broken items and to create  a decorative piece.
Waste/ broken items were:-
i. Key ring  ii. Small plastic ball iii. Steel sticker of a  ladies purse  iv. Wooden piece v. Brass pin from a electric holder.

The plastic doll ( boy) taken from broken key ring was fixed at the extreme back with the help of match sticks and adhesive on a piece of the wood in square shape.  A small plastic ball was also placed at the left side. The brass pin was placed at rightside by using the adhesive. A toothpick was inserted  in the hole of brass pin socket and tightened with its screw. The flag made from the paper was pasted on the top of toothpick   and it was properly coloured . The steel sticker was fitted in front of the flag. A butterfly,  which was made from newspaper and  coloured ,was placed on the ball. A beautiful piece of completely waste items was  ready. I named this  item as TITANIC.
